FREE! Join us as we welcome Cathy “of California” Callahan and the relase of her new book Vintage Craft Workshop! We’ll be celebrating vintage crafts and
the people who made them and inspire us to keep them alive. Cathy collects craft books from the 60s-70s and in them she has discovered not only
inspiration but some fascinating stories about the women who made crafts during that time. Join us for Cathy’s presentation about the projects in her
book, and how she turned her passion for crafts into a business – we’ll be raffling off 2 copies and providing snacks and drink inspired by the times
(fondue anyone?).
Meet the Instructor: Nicole Ichtertz
Nicole was trained as an artist and has been teaching art to children for the past 3 years. She lives in Santa Monica, and is a volunteer handwork assistant at two local Waldorf schools. She currently teaches knitting, weaving, and embroidery to children ages 4-11. Through a friend, she discovered the art of soap making and has taught workshops to children and adults to create uniquely beautiful molds and soaps using objects from nature.

Happy National Crochet Month!
This month at Club Etsy we will be welcoming local crochet artist Cheryl Cambras as our guest for the evening.
One important part of running an Etsy store is examining ways you can expand your skill sets to incorporate new types of products into your shop. We will be highlighting Cheryl’s Etsy Shop and she will be here to offer a free crochet crash course!
Take 10% off your purchase of yarn and crochet hook in the store, or bring your own and borrow one of our in-studio hooks to see if it’s a craft you enjoy!
This event is free and open to everyone but RSVP is highly encouraged. Please respond to our Facebook event page or by emailing hello@theurbancraftcenter.com.

Zines are small, low budget, self-published and self-distributed publications, written by authors outside the mainstream who are motivated to share thoughts or skills with a community rather than to make money or get famous. In a word, zines are awesome. We’ll be working on our own zines are well as collaborative projects, have zine swaps and lots of examples to peruse through.
